Nosterbiterus Pridicts...

Referring to the Wish List Post for a new Explorer model - I will now gaze into the void an predict the future of the Explorer.

The Explorer will die a slow death! It will be replaced, or phased out, by a completely new model. I am seeing it called the E-Terra. The machine will function very similarly to the old SE yet will be more ergonomic with less weight. The machine will be water resistant but not waterproof. The screen will be slightly easier to view and will contain an LED that is always lit. Even with marginal to no performance gains over the SE, the machine is so popular that SE and E-Trac sales plummet. Prices for the E-Terra will start out at around $1200, but within the first year a new unit will commonly cost $950.

Wait a minute... there is something more... Oh Dang! ML read this post and shelved the E-Terra, since SE and E-Trac sales would be in the tank. It now appears that ML will just add the Explorer LE. The LE has the same handle as the E-Trac. New features include a faster processor, an LED lit screen and a smaller/lighter battery pack. Weigh reduction and performance gains are marginal at best, but none-the-less people buy them up and ML is happy.

The images are fading the void is returning to a void. I hope my abilities have entertained you.

Some of the lasting effects could still be influencing my future-vision. Let me gaze into the void once more... A message from ML is appearing... If they want a lightweight Explorer, they can build it themselves. Oh, my - that is direct and to the point. I guess that is what I'll do.

Hi Steve,
Thanks! I am glad you got a chuckle out of my post. I was going to do my yearly dismal post on how ML really does not listen about the weight of the Explorer. Then thought a Nosterbiterus production would be better.

Right after they release the E-Terra, they will develop a completely new detector. The new detector will be built around the slimline coil... har har
Bottoms Up!
