North Carolina

I'm planning on visiting the central coast of North Carolina over the holiday weekend. Any suggestions on some good beaches/places to hit? We're looking more towards the Beaufort area, but I'm really not that familiar with NC. Also, if there's any suggestions on cheap places to stay, that would be appreciated as well. It looks like the timing might be good with the storm that's hitting. Any ideas? Thanks!

Smiley, I would suggest hunting the Atlantic Beach area there near Moorehead City or maybe down around Emerald Isle. The only place I have stayed in that area is the Ramada at Atantic Beach. That was back in 2000 and it was a fairly decent place and served a good steak in the restaurant on steak night. I believe there is a big Sheraton Hotel there also. Both are ocean front. The Sheraton is much nicer from what I understand. If it was closer to me I would join you there on Saturday but Myrtle Beach is faster for me to get there from my location here in NC and I am thinking about heading down there Saturday. Good luck and let us know how you did.
