My wife and I are first timers to metal detecting and are anxious to start. We have a Bounty Hunter Land Star and are going to North Carolina to use it for the first time. We camp in our travel trainer and are looking for a good campground in the Asheville area to park for a week or so to do some panning and detecting. Any suggestions?

Good luck with your new metal detector. Several things to remember.

1. All land is owned by someone ... private, corp, or govt. Seek permission b4 you search and dig.
2. Fill all holes you make, regardless of how small, and take away for proper disposal all trash you see or dig. Leave the area better than what you found it.
3. Respect the space of others.... don't detect too close to others, use headphones so as to not disturb others.
4. Have fun and good luck.

Thanks for the quick response. We will do all that you have suggested. Do you know a site I can go to for detecting in North Carolina with good rv park close? I have done a couple of web searches but thought the forum would be quicker and more helpful. Thanks again...
