Normal battery pack VS rechargeable pack

Which last longer in your whites detectors the normal insert battery pack (where you have to put batteries in ) or your rechargeable battery pack? I'm curious to see what you fellow whites users have found. And 2nd question do you feel the rechargeable battery pack is worth the money you pay?:detecting:

I have found that the rechargeable pack last for about 8 - 12 hours (on average).
However, lithium batteries seem to last FOREVER!
They are expensive (about $18 for an 8 pack at Lowes) but they are worth it. I use them in my Dual Field and they last me all summer. I've used them in the MXT as well. The only problem I've ever had with rechargeables is that you always need to have one pack in reserve just in case. With the V3 it seems that I'm always recharging the batteries.

If you are an occasional hunter a good set of alkalines is recommended..If you hunt a lot the newer NiMH rechargeables are worth the cost as they pay for themselves over time..All alkalines are not the same and of course Lithium are expensive but last much longer..Would take this all in to consideration before purchasing a rechargeable and charger as it appears you do not have them...
