Nor'easter coming tomorrow same day as E-Trac

Looks like the weather is going to put a damper on me using my E-trac immediately upon receiving it.

With a foot of snow predicted, I will have to rely of fellow detectorists posts to get me through this delay.

So keep posting your pics & detecting details so we can all learn something & appreciate your finds while some of us wait for the snow to melt...

Spend some time with it on the bench testing signals, it will help you out. Looks like we are going to be snowed in a while :-(
It definitely separates and has a faster recovery then your SE, you will love that. The thing you want to bench test with (and I don't have a ton of time on it) is that the S curve on the SE and Exp II seems to be easier to identify those colonial and older coins that pin in the corner of the screen from a penny/quarter on up and right as opposed to the etrac. I feelthe straight 12 line of the etrac is more difficult to distinguish. It will take some time to adjust to this one for me.
Hopefully the snow won't slow the delivery up.
Good luck with it!!

I've been using it since the beginning of Dec. I've pulled some good coins and buttons from area's that have been hit hard.(I hunt with Pinebarrens - Al) Some of the signals come in good coins 11 - 47 buttons 12 - 12. Some of the coins are iffy on the FE side. I watch the CO numbers more. If the CO is in the 44 to 48 range it should be a coin. I haven't hit any silver yet, so I don't know how that comes in. I'll dig CO of 12 to 20 for buttons. Rusty nails are a big problem. They'll come in with the same CO as a coin, but the FE will jump all over the place. Sometimes it will give you the same numbers as a coin. I've tried using Tony Hunt's program, all metal and the stock coin programs. They all seem to work good. I've stuck with the coin program. It still lets the coins and buttons ring thru all the nulling and knocks out all the junk except for the small rusty nails. I'll hit them at 10 -12". I use a Garrett probe with the E-trac. I dig the first hole at 4 or 5" then probe the hole. If I don't pick up a signal it's usually a small nail. You'll have to play with the tones, to find what you like. There are so many things you can do with the tones. That will give you something to do after the snow.
