noob to MD

Really have enjoyed reading all the history and experience in this forum. It really charges those us of new to this hobby.

I always wanted to MD even as a kid. I finally bought a Prizm IV 2 weeks ago. Last year a group of us went to
Shreveport to the drag races called "PINKS". Fought rain all weekend. During one of the trips from Shreveport
back to Gilliham where the track was, my wife took her wedding set off. When we arrived at the track her and
the other ladies jumped out of the car at the gate. Rings in her lap, and were gone. We all crawled around looking
for them, heartbroke.

2 weeks ago, I worked there all week, temperature in the 60's. Went and bought the Prizm a flashlight, knee pads
and away I go. In the evenings after work I went back to the track looking to see if I could locate them. No such luck.
It would have been a great Christmas gift getting her that set back. Was just not meant to be. So I am hooked in this
hobby.

Living in the Northwest River Valley area of Arkansas I have been working over the ball fields and soccer fields, just
getting to know signals and learning to dig. Look forward to leaning on this groups knowledge and hopefully can share
some really neat finds from this area. So far, clad dimes, quarters, and some pennies.

Just because you didn't find he rings doesn't mean they aren't there!!

I searched for one ring for a neighbor in the water for two years and finally found it over forty years after he had lost it!!

GL&HH Friend,

CJ

I wouldn't give up on the ring you may have missed it or didn't understand the signal. If you get the chance again go over the area again after you learn the machine better.

Remember that ring could come in anywhere on your ID. And it doesnt always give a good signal. Be careful of the amount of discrimination you use, use little as possible.
Good luck,
John

I have learned more about it since I went out the first couple of days. Look forward to making
another run at it.

Thanks for the replies and support.
