I went and had my oil in my truck changed this morning at one of them quick-change places Ive been to before...After a few minutes,they asked me where I had my oil changed last time;I told them, a GM dealer up west Branch way...They told me "WELL;THEY ONLY HAD THE DRAIN-PLUG IN FINGER TIGHT"...So;I said WELL-That would have been bad if it had come out-for them!To the tune of about $6 Grand;or so-I only had 8,000 miles on it when they changed the oil-
if that plug fell out;they would have had to change a LOT more than just the oil....SO:being the nice guy that I am ;I called the dealer;and told the service dept.what happened-and they were NOT HAPPY with my story-..it seems they are going to have an investigation on it...I got there on a Saturday;right near the end of their work-day...I think somebody was too much in a hurry to get outta work...If the plug fell out;they probably wouldnt have had a job to go back to....

...Not just mine rebuilt;either-A BRAND SPANKIN NEW ONE IN MY TRUCK-I would have made sure GM Customer Service was the 2nd place I called after the dealer;just to have it all documented...They would have been giving me alternate transportation(FREE;of course) for the time my truck was in their shop gettin that engine replaced;cause I lived 130 miles from the dealer("I will just take that Corvette convertible over there for 2 weeks")..RIGHT...YEAH:That would have definitely not have been a good day for them...As for me;I probably would have not been too upset-NOW;AS FOR THE 'technician" that would have been responsible for that-Lets just say that would have been a day he wouldnt have forgotten for a LONG time;when the dealer got thru with him
