:nono:If your thinking of having anyone service your machine besides FISHER...DON'T!

I made the mistake of sending my CZ-70 Pro to a guy that claims that he can fix them better than the "new" FISHER because "they have all new people", which I found is not true. I think most of you know who Im talking about. To make a long story short, the guy had my machine for 6 months. I sent it to him because it wasnt getting good depth, only air testing a dime at 6". When he finally did "fix" it, I had to send him $77.00 ($60. plus $17. S&H). Well, when I got it back, it did'nt work any better than before I sent it to him. Fed up and frustrated with the so called "expert", I sent it to FISHER along with a copy of his reciept. I had called Felix at FISHER ahead of time and let him know what happen, realizing and admitting what a stupid thing it was to send the machine to anyone other than them. Daniel Snell recalibrated it and found that the brand new coil I bought was defective and they replaced it and sent the unit back to me with absolutely no-charge!!!:crylol: The machine runs better than ever! I am hunting in pounded out areas I've thought were hunted out and today found 4 Wheaties 6-8" deep, with a 5" coil! And they sounded clear as a bell! Yesterday I found a really loud signal at 6" and it was a hi-tone and turned out to be a little silver ball with a threaded hole, the size of a muskett ball. Silver is silver, no matter what it is.
I really want to express my sincere thanks to the FISHER company and especially Felix and Daniel who really took care of me, and not just this time but also when they recalibrated my CZ-3D earlier in the year, that detector also is a depth demon too!
Sincerely,
Aaron

I have been super pleased with Fisher service and parts. When people go online and look for knobs, grips and other parts I have to chuckle. The great secret is that Fisher has the stuff for even a lot of our old machines and their parts are reasonable. I have been super tempted to buy a CZ 3 with the earlier serial number. I have tried to purchase a few but never got it done. I love my newer CZ and have found a ton of deep stuff with it. That "darned air test" that hangs around always makes me wonder. Mine doesn't test as deep. I almost had one of the old machines purchased, for top dollar, when I realized how stupid I was. Since my machine is under warranty, why don't I call Felix and see if they can tune mine up to air test better? I haven't done it yet, but that is my plan.

Over the years have heard of good and bad service from independent repair centers that work on many units and sort of been there done that with a rival company that had sattelite repair centers..Live and learn I guess. In addendum using Fishers since 92 my repairs have been far and few between but was well satisfied and units came back working fine without a lot of downtime..Always exceptions to the rule as Nasa Tom Dankowski really helped some CZ3D users but don't send your Chevy to a Ford garage to get fixed should cover it all...
Honestly when Fisher merged they had some problems to sort out but from feedback seems like they are doing fine at present.
