non metallic sealant for BH coils?

HeavyIron

New member
Can anyone recommend a good, totally non metallic sealant for coils. I know that the coils are supposed to be waterproofed, but I also know that sometimes a product can be defective in one or more features. I want make sure that my coils are not going to eventually leak. Thanks for input.

Ive heard of many people using that black spray-on bed liner stuff that is used to seal and protect pick-up truck beds. HH. Matt

^ Yep and it works good too.

I use RTV clear sealant. Works great and First Texas said it won't void your warranty.

So what is the name of the BLACK stuff and where do you get it?

I've often wondered about the stuff they sell on TV where they put a screen door in the bottom of a boat and coat it with that stuff. Supposed to remain flexible, etc, etc.............Not sure about what bed liner people use on their coils but one that comes to mind is called "Rhino liner", although there are several others out there. I think I would try it on something non-metallic and let it set up, then test with my MD just to make sure it does not contain any bits or metal fibers in it (JMO).
