Nokta Impact power-up

I guess I meant to say is it damaging to the electronics to power-up a impact or any other detector without a coil connected?

Hi U2, I don't have a Impact, but I have been detecting about 20 years. I have always power-up what ever detector I am using to see about the battery's. I do this with no coil on it. I have never had any trouble with any detector I have had. I have a MXT that I hunt with a lot and got it new when they first came out in 2000, I think. I would ask a dealer to know for sure. Do you like the Impact? been thinking about getting one, Good luck with yours. flintstone

Just got it and only used it in my test garden a little chatty but from my tests pretty darn deep I was impressed. Also build real solid. I like how the cable travels up the center of the shaft like my E-Trac. It also has 12 search modes a little overwhelming at first but once you start playing with it it's badass.
