Nokta Impact arrived today, couple of questions

My Impact is here but I am totally green with this machine. I hunt plantations loaded
In iron and woods. What is the best setting for houses loaded in nails?
What settings work best in the woods for deep relics? Finally, best setting for all metal?
Thanks

Loaded with nails.
20khz DI3 or DI99 mode.
Sens 85 plus.
Disc 3
Isat 0
Try to run manual GB,,do a ground balance adjacent to nails site.

Cleaner in the woods.
If you bob coil and see 1 or less bars,,use dI4 mode

If you see 2 or more bars,,use DI3

Either way try to run max gain 99
Disc 3
Isat-0
Freq 14 kHz

Or if you see one or less bars,,use 14khz,,deep mode,,sens at least 92,, even higher if site/emi will allow
14khz.

Have fun

Impact will hunt.

Yes, what squirrel1 said is good advise. As for your all metal question, (Gen) is a great "normal" all metal mode with audio tone adjustment and TID. Gen(D) is a delta pitch (threshold gets louder as it approaches he target) mode with adjustable tone break setting...really unique. Gen(D) would be a great setting in the woods in mild to moderate trash. Congratulations on your purchase!

I would try lowering your gain to about 60 and start out that way and see how the machine reacts to the iron. I don't think you are going to be digging deep relics, and use the 20 freq....Small coil don't swing too fast and set your notch to about 21-26....use very little disc and take your time. Dig all iffy tones..hit the corn fields and any creeks and open fields

Looks like I'm gonna have to buckle down and get one.
Gonna post a new thread for thoughts...

I love this machine especially the small (Microscopic) coil for trashed areas. It also is a work horse for general hunting. I like DI99 for general hunting and a tuned DI3 for coins. This machine locks solid on coins and silver with a death grip. Coming from an ATP and an ETRAC, this machine has more capability. There is a definite learning curve with any machine but just spending a little time using the Impact in the default modes will convince you!

I like a lot of the modes the Nokta Impact offers,
The one that I have been using is the VLX1 mode ,
Happy Treasure Hunting

LOL, yeah, better do it, you won't regret it. Your detector arsenal line-up might change some afterwards.

Personally, I love DI99 wth zero disc because you can hear every single thing in the ground. Everything above iron is a different tone so you can distinguish between what to dig.

Kind of an aside but I agree with Lawrenzo. The benefits of a high Gain detector are huge in terms of the depth and the targets it will pick out of iron, but, a Gain setting of "97" is more of an advanced method that takes some ear and target confirming practice. The great thing about the Impact's platform is that you can acquire targets with these high settings and then snap over to confirm / examine them in another mode with lower settings. I use DI2 or DI99 for this. The accuracy at these high levels comes with time and practice.
