Nokta and Makro?

New member
Are these 2 companies related? I've seen multiple post mixed together on both forums. Where are these machines made?
Thanks
John

Thank you for the info San dog, After reading Montes review and watching u-tube vids I want one of these things bad!
I'm just hoping my week old MX5 with the sef 10x12 will go as deep as this Nokta (funny name) I know my sovereign GT with the 10x12 would.
I just got the whites 6x9DD yesterday and gave it a good work out yesterday and today just plucking clad quarters total of maybe 12, decent separation but not the greatest depth, I'm saving up for the sef 10x12 right now.

I'm Curious. Why would I buy one machine over the other? Or for that matter... these machines over other brands?

Just starting my research into buying an new MD.

Thx.

Yes. There were two brothers who each had a metal detector company, one names Nokta and the other Makro (the company names). Nokta had purchased an interest in Makro, and last December they bought out and own Makro. Kind of like back in the '80s when Teknetics bought out Bounty Hunter, or the modern example of First Texas Products owning Bounty Hunter, Teknetics and Fisher.

Initially there was the Nokta/Makro Forum on Findmall and it had/has a lot of posts on both brands and models. Recently they added a Makro Forum so now we can separate our posts based upon the brand of interest.

Turkey, and they are of very high quality in both electronic design and physical packaging.

Some people like the looks and excellent balance of the Nokta FORS Coin & Relic. Some like the 'S' rod of the Racer. Some like the Racer's crimson color and others don't. Some like a simple and easy-to-view numeric Target ID display like the FORS CoRe features, and others like the more informative and lighted display of the Racer.

So people can select them simply by their appearance and/or their comfort and/or styling. Others will soon learn, too, that along with the things I just mentioned, both of these models provide exceptional in-the-field performance, and that's where it really counts. I still like the White's MXT All-Pro and Tesoro Bandido II microMAX as they can serve my needs, but .... I moved them to 'back-up' status for a few reasons after working with both the FORS CoRe and Racer in some challenging iron infested sites.

I would encourage you to consider either of these models in your detector shopping. They are both proven performers and my Nokta FORS CoRe is ready-to-go shortly as I am headed out for a beach hunt and use the stock 7X11 and FORS for cruising those types of sites.
