Noise from Vibraprobe 560 - Anyone else having this problem

I love my pinpointer, but as soon as I turn it one, my MXT starts acting up. Anyone else have this problem with their pinpointer probe?

Also, is this what happens when two people are MDing to close to each other like during a hunt. Anyway around it?

Thx.

Marco,

The issue your describing is known as 'cross-talk' between the Vibra Probe and your detector. The Vibra Probe is a pulse detector while your detector is a VLF.

By simply moving the search head about 6 inches more to the side will greatly eliminate any of the cross talk.

Even the White's Bullseye will cross talk if too close to the detector.

Yes, I had this problem with the VibraProbe used with several different detectors. It was very annoying, especially since the VP 560 has no manual shut-off switch so I'd have to wait until it turned itself off.

My solution: I sold it and cashed in some clad and bought a DetectorPro Pocket UniProbe. Still some cross-talk but it's a much more sensitive probe and can be turned off any time. It also has a tune-able frequency to minimize the cross-talk.

In any case, I find targets much faster with the UniProbe.
