noise cancel

I went to the AC hunt Saturday. Just before the last hunt of the day my CTX started chattering like crazy. I used noise cancel and it stopped for a second or two then started again. When the crowed passed me it was working smooth again. I didn't have time to change channels in the middle of the hunt. This was the first time I ever used the CTX in a competition hunt. Has this ever happened to any of you on a hunt with the CTX?

luckily for me the only detector that adversely affected me on a competition hunt was an Etrac and once i knew that i stayed away from that machine. trying to find a clear channel during a competition would be very frustrating indeed and by the time we got it working the hunt wound be over... sorry i cannot help any more than that...

Switch your mode next time. I get a ton of interference when my hunting buddy and I both use FE-coin. When I switch to ground coin it smooths out.

I didn't recognize one of the detectors that was in my area, that might have been the one giving me the problem. It was only on the last hunt, you are right martygene it is very frustrating and you only have seconds to react. The most productive part of the hunt is the first ten feet. I am new to competition hunting, it is a lot of fun I enjoyed it, the people are great. I will do it again next year. Minelab did a fantastic job with the help of people like Ron from the Gold Diggers store from Raritain NJ.

BBS machines will drive the CTX nuts. Probably a couple others will as well. Sovereign hunters usually can't get within 50 ft of each other. Use a quick, light, single frequency machine in the dry sand hunts. A Tesoro works great.
