Noise cancel

Nock

New member
When getting started , is there any settings to make before doing your noise cancel?

Dont think so Nock. I just hold mine a couple inches off the ground, press NC and go. Someone else may know better. I am just getting to know my Explorer.

thats about it 6inchs push button then detect also do every onch in while just to reset for changing air and ground conditions also any sensitivity changes re noise cancel

I don't under stand why my Explorer ll manual says to place the coil on clean ground and do the noise cancel,
and my SE says 30 CM off the ground. 30 CM =11.81 inches, so I use 12".
I have tried both ways, in the same spot and both ways picked the same number...
So may be it does not matter the way you do the noise cancel.

yah i,m not clear on this either but dew hold the coil close to knee high i,ll have to experiment air or ground this yeat especialy in heavy iron areas to see which works the best

no difference where your coil, just in the air it can pick up more noise, try with high manual sensitivity, I suggest use manual, but before test what channel works best on your land, exist very small difference between channels. good luck Stasys

Don't know, but it works.

I think maybe the deal with "30 cm above the ground" may simply be that if you put it close to the ground to do a cancel, and you happened to choose a spot with a big metal target in the ground, the coil sensing that metal might "throw off" the noise cancel. If you are over clean ground, it might not be as much of an issue if you hold it 2 inches or 12 inches when noise cancelling. Just a thought...
