Nobody detecting?

Ground is too hard to dig where I live. Sure, we had a bit of rain on occasion but not enough to soak in beyond 2-3 inches and then it quickly hardens again. Most of the year has been the same story for lots of ppl in the States. I hope we get lots of rain soon.

So true Aaron. We've gotten some rain and now it's easier to detect. There for some time it was just way too hot and humid to do much of anything outside. HH, Nancy

found a really cool buckle the other day . trying to i.d it further. 1870 on the back. pretty good size. new to all this . cant seem to put up a pic. tells me file size is to big

cmbf7, I made a tutorial for resizing pics lately. It can be found here.....http://www.findmall.com/read.php?25,1777638 and is the LAST post.

All the forums have been dead, and I mean all of them. It always happens in the hottest/most dry part of the season every year. About the only forum that flourishes during the super hot/dry part of the season are the beach hunters, but even many of those guys lay low until the heat dies down a bit. As the temps continue to lower and the ground gets more wet you'll once again see all the forums start to take off again. Happens every year.

I find it hard to believe no one is detecting? If you look since 9/21 there have been 8 posts in this forum. Another I just looked at had 33 since 9/21.
Weather here is very cool....perfect for detecting. Strange.

weather here has been amazing, just terrible ground conditions. I can't break the surface of the ground with a small hand shovel. And if I do, the grass is dead for sure with no rain.

If the ground is hard and the grass dry. I usually turn down the sensitivity on my detectors, run with a smaller coil and as usual mainly dig with a screw driver. Sure you are not going to hit the deeper targets, but still can detect without tearing up the grass. Sometimes I find jewelry and this is exciting when I can't get to the deeper targets. Just some thoughts. HH
