As of this am...when I went to look at my beach NOAA webcam on the internet machine,.., I got "Due to the Govt shutdown, this and most .gov sites are closed" type of thing...

I check this cam every am to see what the situation at the beach is..wind direction, surf conditions, etc..just a heads up...web cams are very helpful for us to monitor as we plan a hunt or try to get to know a beach... theres a few town or private beach ones operating, mainly sponsored by private business like surf shops and kite boarders catering to the surf crowd,.. windfinder.com is a good site to go to find out what the waves are doing, forecasts etc..helps us in our hunt for the precious...

Remember who is doing this when it comes time to vote.
I don't mean who is causing the impasse, they are ALL to blame for that.

Their lackys have been told to "make the citizens as miserable as possible", going so far as to close the FREAKING OCEAN and places that haven't seen a ranger in years. And don't get me started on how you can close a statue or memorial wall or cemetery. The ones issuing these orders need to FRY.
But I will settle for thrown out of office. Always remember who did you wrong against the day that you can do something about it.

Thanks for that link. It may come in very handy here in my area. Last time I went to the beach working in the water was a real chore as the wind was considerably higher at the beach than where I live. Only 30 miles. Between the wind, waves and current I didnt do any good at all in the water. Had better luck on the sand where the current had made a cut.
