The old 1880s house was a bust for old coins, the soil and grass was luscious. I think it had all been replaced over the years. Anyway did get this nice ring along with clad and junk. Inside it is marked WXXX. Chat on the internet relates that is probably a mark used by the JR Wood Co. (1850-1970) In the 70s merged and or became Art Carved Jewelry Co. Ive seen entries that claimed the XXX was for 18 kt. Some rings with that mark tested 18 kt and some 10kt. Mine tested 10kt. -the jeweler offered me $65, but I usually dont sell stuff and dont know if that is a fair price. It is quite hefty. All the jewelers thought it had some age to it. Thanks for looking and good hunts all. CO
