Christmas day. Worked in the morning. Went to the regular beach with Ken for the afternoon. Both using Ace 150's over the wet sand. Around +8C and almost no wind, great winter conditions.
Stayed until just after dark. Wanted to try out some LED lights (gave one each to Ken and Riki), which work great. Plan to do some minus tide night hunts during the New Year, so preparing for that.
Ken's result at the bottom of the pic - below the sinker wire.
1.902 yen in coins (around US$16.40)
And mine......
2,347 yen in coins (around US$20.20)
Silver Tiffany heart.
Teeth.
Small ring marked 18K / Pt850 (Very happy to see those letters and numbers. Platinum is my target metal but the sea gods are a little hard of hearing and thought I said "Pulltabs please"!).
For your reference, the settings were all metal, sensitivity of three bars, and it registered as a pull tab and jumped either side of that to rings and nickel - but mainly on pull tab. Put in back in the sand and called Ken over and asked him what he thought it was. He said, "A nice ring."
I think he understood my smile more than the detector though.
Ian and Ken @ the land of the rising rings, mmmm.....ring.
