Went looking for that ring and after an hour found this coin...From looking online its an 1816 spanish 2 reale...couldnt believe it so ran home to look it up..ring can wait a bit:crazy:Now gotta wait til homeowner gets home to discuss what to do with it..maybe i can work off its value for her...too early for a cold beer...later though:beers:

Incredible find Curt, congratulations ! Thanks for posting it. Hopefully you can pound that area and find some more, then again I'm sure you've already thought of that. Good luck.

Just met up with her and she told me to keep coin and wants me to keep looking for ring and anything else i might find.and actually she showed me where old house dump on property is a few weeks back and wants to dig up with me.i posted a whatzit we found right on top of ground at dump weeks ago..no reply but believe is a bridle rosette...going to be interesting.she believes her home was built in 1860..so no idea why such early coin..but i will def post any other finds..and can say quite excited about coin and now time for a cold beer:beers:

Thats an amazing first silver HUGE Congratulations!!

EXCELLENT FIND! Wish I had been hunting with you when you found it. Cause I bet you did the "happy dance" and would have loved to seen that. :wiggle:

Thanks everyone..i was hoping to get a merc on my first silver..they are a cool looking coin..but im very happy to have found this..feel i was very lucky and wanted to share this..didnt do happy dance Bruce :wiggle:as you know this area close to road..and if i did that, sure guys in white suits would hunt me down:stretcher:

If you sold it you could probably afford to buy a Merc or two. I'll bet there are lots of neat finds awaiting you there. :surprised: The coin you found could of been lost by a traveler or hunter years before the area was even settled. Just an amazing find.

Great find Curt.....hear is one to ya.......:beers:

Enjoy your beer Curt, you earned it. Must be nice knowing that when you go hunt the place again you might very well find a gold ring....and it wouldn't even be your best find !

What a great find. OMG............I think I would faint. That would make a great charm for a loved one or even yourself. What a beauty! Are you still on cloud nine? Here's to you! HH, Nancy

Here's an idea for your 1/2 Reale. It would make a great piece of jewelry. I love this one and can wear it with either white gold, yellow gold or silver.

That is a nice looking piece..how big is that?..cause 1/2 reale i have is smaller than a regular dime..and would be a tiny piece for necklace.

It's about the size of a half dollar. Didn't anyone ever tell you that size doesn't matter? It's a very nice find! HH, Nancy
