No Pine Tree Shilling this time, but some nice coins anyway

Hi All!

I guess after finding that Pine Tree, anything else must be considered a little let down, but my last couple of trips out have yielded some real nice coins anyway. Attached are a couple of pics showing the majority of the finds. Not pictured are about 18 wheats, 3 Indians and a '52 Rosie. The large cent in the upper left is an 1838 and is in great shape, I just took a lousy pic- full Liberty and tons of detail. Next to it is an 1857 Seated Half-dime, and then a pair of Seated dimes, found in the same hole- 1884 & 1885 (all the seated coins have full Liberty's on the shield) and next to them is an 1865 2 center.

Below those are the Barbers & Mercs, and below them are a Chinese coin, a nice 1862 C/N Indian and a silver ring which unfortunately is cracked at the bottom.

Enjoy the pics and HH all!

Those are some great finds! Seated Coins are a tough one to find in this neck of the woods but they are out there. Finding 2 Seated Dimes must have been a heck of a feeling to have. I have found a 2-Cent Piece before but never an American Half-Dime or a Large Cent. You really have some fantastic sites in Mass. that go way back to make some very Old Coin Finds. Nice Finds once again and I hope the luck continues for you at that very rewarding spot your at. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.

Thanks James!

I've seen your finds and I'm just trying to get a head start because I know it won't be long and I'll be seeing your usual dozen or more silvers from every weekend!
We Mass folks do have the advantage of having the full array of coins available, but your weekly production never ceases to amaze me. How much longer before we start to see your finds??

HH & GL to you too!

Jeff

Looks like we have more Snow in the forecast for this week but hopefully, it will go around us so what we do have on the ground will melt and the frost can start thawing in the ground. I hope to get out in a week or 2. The sooner the better. I am glad you have enjoyed my posts and I hope to continue where I left off when I am able to get out and do some hunting of my own. But until then, I'll just keep enjoying what everyone else is finding on the Forum. Good Luck and HH.

Try photoing those coppers on a red or blue nonreflective background. I think you will like the results better for showing.
Here is an EXAMPLE

Wow - Beautiful coins. Sometimes rings that have a wide band will split at the bottom of the ring due to freezing moist soil. Sometimes it will pop the stone out of the ring. Trapped ice can split open anything. Jabbo
