No need to get IN the water...

just need to get near it here in Texas. While a good part of the country is suffering from flodding and too much water, we barely have enough. I've hit the same lake 2 Saturdays in a row and have yet to get the ATP wet yet. Here's why!!

But, the boaters loss is the detectorists gain!! Last week Nugget Bill, his grandson Jonathon and I hit a park a little bit from this one and didn't fare too well. This park gets most of the action but was full of about 10,000 Hells Accountants and the entry fee to the park was $40...forget that!! So, to the lesser park we went.

Here's Ol' Nugget Bill and Jonathon going over their loot!!

Here's my loot!! Mighty thin!!

Got more fishing gear than anything!!

Jonathon was the only one that found anything worthwhile, a nice silver worry ring and being this was his first hunt and he found a ring---now he's hooked!!

So this Saturday, I figure those bikers had bound to of lost something so I headed over to the original park. I hunted a spot that I had never been to before but there have always been a fair amount of swimmers there so I decided something might be there. And boy was there. The ATP was going crazy with all the targets...mostly bad ones. I was having a hard time staying true to Dig Everything, but for 4 hours that's pretty much what I did.

Here's the take for the day, better than last week!!

Got me a nice 925 Italy bracelet(21 grams) and a real Nitro of a pendant along with a couple of bucks change...and a pile of trash too big to show.

Here's the bracelet and Nitro cleaned up and shiny!!

Around noon, it got too hot and the families started filling the park, so I decided it was best I take my leave and headed into town and got me an old fashioned hamburger with fresh-cut french fries before heading back for the house.

190 mile, 3 1/2 hour round trip= tired
7 gallons of $3.85 gas = $27
Burger and fries = $7
Found silver chain and a few bucks in change on a day being on the lake diggin' and not sitting in an office answering 'phone and e-mails = FREAKIN' PRICELESS!!

You had a good time and did something you like to do that's the price of diminishing returns.
Good things found to boot and food fit for a king:thumbup:

Nice! Thanks for sharing!:clapping: Happy Hunting!:)
