No Motion Pinpoint Question

Dick from IA

New member
First time poster to the Tesoro site; have been following along for several months and am really interested in a Vaquero for relic hunting.

Having read the owners manual on the Tesoro site, I'm still confused as to how the pinpoint feature works:wacko:. It says No Motion but yet Xing is recommended. Could someone please explain this further; I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks:cool:

"X"ing means to move the coil, side to side, to determine the loudest signal. That should be the center of the target in that plane. Then "X" the target in the other direction along that plane to find the loudest signal. That will give you the center in that plane. If you can imagine two lines crossing, like cross-hairs, then you have pinpointed the center of the target.

Hope this helps,
OldeTymer

in disc mode you have to move the coil to get a sound, if you hold the coil still over the target you will get no sound.
in pinpoint mode you will get a sound over the target even if you hold the coil still, just move the coil around till you get the loudest sound --- the target will then be in the center of the coil.
