No motion just keeps getting better

I put the 7" DD on the outlaw , and by using three things you can get a gold ring at 5" deep thru small nails , boby pins, small foil with no masking efect, now if they are right on the surface you will hear them but at that point no deep digging to remove them but the three things ground balance in the negitive then switch to no motion and make shure you get a good sound on the ring at 4" that is using the retune then from that point you can use the threshold to shorten up the signal by turning it down so you really get a sharp sound on the ring but ignor the small foil at 3" and small nails & boby pins and in this mode it still hits hard on coins to I took it out to the gravle road and it did good no small junk but just the meat and potatoes I think the no motion will be my primary hunting mode, because it hits far better than disc mode on masked items and yet ignors the small junk its a good thing winter has held me back because it has given me time to figure this mode out and understand what it can do for me since i got back into metal detecting ,no detector has had such a cool search mode as this outlaw. the half was not told me . my prediction you will see me find gold this year , provided the snowr goes away

I have been checking back here Gun just for your posts. You are the man. Tomorrow i am going for an all day hunt for the first time in a long time with the outlaw......

Thanks for the time you are putting into this. Waiting for weather to break here also.

IDX do give the no motion a try . I take a block of wood say 3.5" deep and just put a small gold ring down and tune it in untill its coming in good but not the nail and just search for a wile. I know most people dont like all metal but the outlaws is diffrent you may dig some foil on the suface but nothing deep and no deep nails but if a ring is thear its a good chance you will hear it well. it will hit a gold ring about an 1" deeper than a quarter . and a nails about an inch or better less deep I have some spots whear this will work but in a wood chip lot the poles may set off the no mo so disc is better in wood chip lots. you can narrow the signal so its not so wide by turning down the threshold a bit or a lot

Thanx Gun! I did get out for a bit this am and tried a few different styles of detecting. Nothing great, lots of clad. Its really tough for me getting used to no screen, but im trying. Ive been using the idx and f2 for the last 3 years so its a very big change for me. Have you ever tried the f2?

No i have never tried the F-2 but i had a M-6 whites and it had the 7 tones and VDI numbers and barrs it told you alot i would even say it is an exelent machine 90% of the time you had a very good Idea of what you had in the ground that was my 1st detector since i quit in the mid 70.s the M-6 could tell the diffrence between a bottle cap and a quarter every time really it was a great TID machine , but was not to deep . and could not handle mineralized ground and was a bit heavy for me . then i went to a cibola and it took some getting used to but was a good machine I also tried a Gold bug with all the TDI stuff, but i have grown to realize i kinda like the basic discrimination machines, because i dont want to miss gold, but I have seen some impressive find from that F-2. the one thing i really dont like to be without is a ground balance. by the way i did like the Golden with its three tones that was nice.
