Is there an all metal no motion hunt mode on the etac.

Yes, in the pinpoint mode.
Maybe download the Etrac Emulator and you can play with the etrac as though you have one in your hand. Using this I new the etac like the back of my hand even before it I decided to buy it
I'm not sure if there is a findmall link to it, but is available on the forum across the pond.
