No more detector shop in South east Queensland

I was talking to Cavid Cooper from Treasure Ent. and he told me he is pulling plug and throwing in the towel.
It's a bit sad as he has had this business for 30 odd years. I bought my first dredge 25yrs ago from TE
and then my first detector, then a second and now a going for my 3rd MD.
He was saying that too many people are buying from E-bay rather than supporting the business.
He was being hammered by people asking questions all the time to a point that it was a full time
job just answering the phone alone. No money in that.
Sounds like an opening for a MDing store in Brisbane, Australia.
Anyway, I suppose that's life.

also it could be that not enough gold is being found here in qld and even aldi has been selling metal detectors

What brand are they selling at Aldi?
We have heaps of excellent beaches here on the east coast, so the lack of finding items on the beach will never waine.
A lot of grey nomads have detectors they got from TE.
Hey mickance, where ya from mate?

Hey all,

David was singing that tune a year ago. I bought my detector from him opposed to importing one for the very reason he is on about. Sad if he goes.

Cheers Pete :ausflag: :bounty: :minelab:

I hope he doesn't close his shop. I bought a Xterra 70 off him last year and have just bought a Xterra 705 off him along with a variety of items over the past 2 years. I met him for the first time a couple of months ago and found him a very nice person who has experience that can't be bought.

cheers

I have to agree as a detector dealer myself. I'm sorry that y'all are losing a detector business there. It is a tough road to hoe! It comes down to the bucks of course.
