No longer an E-TRAC user, but wanted to post my totals with it.

I absolutely LOVED the E-TRAC! It was a coin sniper as you can see from my clad totals. Haven't been on [here] much lately, but have had some really good hunts over the last few weeks. These numbers are for the 5 months I used the E. I'm very happy with them. My total silver count was 85 coins, 5 rings, and 2 charms. Oldest find was a 1717 King George I Farthing. So many great coins to select as the "best", so I'll just go with the 1828 capped Bust dime. Definitely one of my best finds.

So as I say goodbye to this forum, and move over to the CTX, I wanted to thank many of you for helping me with settings, advice, and all the words of encouragement. The majority of people on here were really nice. Thank you.

Thanks Ron! Best of luck with the new machine.

I was thinking to upgrade my Fisher F2 with an Etrac but maybe not, this is what a got in my first 3months using my F2 -> 1 14k gold pendant + 1 diamond ring VS 14k + 1 10k Ring +3 Silver rings + Silver half dollar and I still can't remeber what else :)

So you used the etrac for 5 months, did that well and gave up on it already? I have been using the etrac for over 2 yrs and still learning everyday. In 5 months you were just scratching the potential of the etrac potential. Why would you get rid of it already?

I had exactly the same thought!

Almost two years and still learning

I guess it is like dating...you always feel the one around the corner will be prettier:devil:

We just celebrated being married 24 years and he took me back to Massachusetts to detect for celebration:twodetecting:

You should do what you want to do but

I have found 4 Gold rings and more Silver Rings than I can count

Our Silver count went up times four

My theory is it is about putting your coil over it and knowing what it is that makes the ET and me successful!

Good Luck Ron and HH to All

Good luck with your new CTX. Hope your E-Trac found a good home.

Yep, good luck, ronfin, with the 30 ~ 30.. I'd sure like to get one, and will, with all the finds I make with my E-Trac! Glad you enjoyed your time with the trac.. bet it will make your CTX learning curve a bit easier.

I'm not sure what other folks average, but I average between $40.00 - $50.00 a month in clad, so I'm not surprised to see these amounts. Once I break down and buy a coin tumbler, my totals will only increase. Everyone talks about how good the E-Trac is for finding silver, but it is equally as good on clad and will pay for itself within 2 years or sooner.

I decided to upgrade to the CTX, so it wasn't as much as giving up on the ETRAC, because the E is an AMAZING machine, as much as it was a decision to get a MD with more to offer. If you drive a Mustang wouldn't you rather get a Cobra if ya could? I have/had nothing bad to say about the E-TRAC. It really is an awesome machine. I weighed my options heavily. I had half the money for the CTX put away, and thought about keeping the E as a back-up, but I just don't hunt that much to have a need for an extra machine, and even if something happened to the CTX, I would be perfectly fine with having to wait until it was fixed or replaced. Having $1200 collect dust wasn't something I wanted to do, so I decided to auction it on eBay.

Ronfin - I know what you mean. I was the proud owner of a 2004 Mustang Cobra and thought I would never get rid of it. It was heavily modified and put out 650 HP at the wheels. But something else came along that was better, so I traded in my baby and never looked back. Now all you have to do is mod the CTX 3030 to get 650 HP to the coil.:super:

Auction just ended, and it sold for $1100, which is more than I needed. Happy camper right now! Have a few extra dollars for a new Garrett PP!

Good luck with your new toy.

I kept my Etrac and will use it as a winter woods beater. I hunted today with my Etrac and finally realized how much the CTX3030 is an improvement on the Etrac. No contest!

The Etrac is a great great machine, but Minelab did this new one right. The Etrac never was much if any an upgrade to the Explorer SE Pro.

Just bought ronfin's etrac. Hope to obtain similar results with some practice. Thanks ronfin

Hey, glad ya signed-up on this forum. You'll find a wealth of knowledge, and helpful people on here, and as some of them already know, that E-TRAC found a lot of goodies!

It's all boxed, and ready to ship. First thing tomorrow morning shipping it UPS Next Day Air, so it'll be delivered on Monday morning by 10:30 AM. I'm pretty sure it's just $10 more for Saturday delivery, so I'll check and if it is I'll send it out for Saturday delivery so you can hunt over the weekend. Will send ya an email in the morning. Can't wait to see pics of your finds!

He's getting an awesome deal. I gave him EVERYTHING I had for the E-TRAC. The custom digital camo rain covers, an extra roll of digital camo tape, Andy's book, everything that came with it (minus the headphones that were replaced), and the 6x8 SEF coil! I threw-in the coil instead of selling it separately because I figured whoever won this would have much better luck hunting using that coil. -Ron

My totals with the E-Trac for this year minus $14.00 and the 14K Gold Heart Pendant are listed below.

But why would you add your last sentence about your opinion of the ET and the SE?

Was your intent to upset people?
