No Kind of Day to be Hunting for Platinum, 18k is good though!

I stopped by Horseshoe Bay on the way home from work today to check conditions at the beach where the platinum band was lost. Rip Tide warning was still in effect so I decided that this ring wasn't worth risking my skin over it. I headed home to the Princess who informed me that dinner was an hour away from being ready so into the shorty wetsuit for this pirate and down the path to my beach.
I've pounded the heck out of this beach and it's given up a lot of good loot but none lately. I went to silent seach by dropping below threshold and started my hunt, heading out to the edge of the turtle grass that borders the beach proper, the water was dead flat. Normally this would mean I was hunting in chin deep water but tonight I was even up to my chest, the sanding in was that bad over the whole beach. I hit a few really deep pull tabs and a few obvious aluminium cans that I dug anyway just to get the out of my beach. After half an hour I got a broken signal with a slight gold tone so I started digging, 4 scoops later I hit pay dirt with this Heavy, 18k White Gold Band with Yellow Gold Inlay!

Except for the remains of a very corroded penny that was it for finds tonight. The Princess came down to the beach with our bouvier Bree to let me know dinner was ready, Salmon with Chick Pea and Mandarin Orange Salad; DELICIOUS!
Forgot to take the camera with me tonight so unfortunately, no pics of a beautiful sunset this time.

Cheers All,

Very nice BDA... Maybe you can pass off this ring to that guy who lost his platinum ring :)

I was thinking about offering to sell him this solid platinum band I found last year, or at least renting it to him until I find his ring.

My little, one bedroom cottage was built in 1794 and comes with beach access through the hotel grounds. The loot helps to offset the cost of living but not much. Nice to have well heeled tourists to restock the beach though.

I notice that the threshold creeps back over the hunt and you have to readjust it midhunt. Have you noticed that GH?
If the VaBeach pirates prefer the usual settings then more power to them, they're finding plenty of loot. I just like these new settings and enjoy trying new techniques, especially when they deliver the loot. Thanks for pointing me in this direction, Mate!

That's a beauty alright!

The inscription reads 5-11-02 and it is in brand new condition so I expect it may have been lost on the honeymoon. It sure was a deep one. I'm liking this no threshold setting a lot but it takes a little getting used to.

Good Hunting to All,
