I stopped by Horseshoe Bay on the way home from work today to check conditions at the beach where the platinum band was lost. Rip Tide warning was still in effect so I decided that this ring wasn't worth risking my skin over it. I headed home to the Princess who informed me that dinner was an hour away from being ready so into the shorty wetsuit for this pirate and down the path to my beach.
I've pounded the heck out of this beach and it's given up a lot of good loot but none lately. I went to silent seach by dropping below threshold and started my hunt, heading out to the edge of the turtle grass that borders the beach proper, the water was dead flat. Normally this would mean I was hunting in chin deep water but tonight I was even up to my chest, the sanding in was that bad over the whole beach. I hit a few really deep pull tabs and a few obvious aluminium cans that I dug anyway just to get the out of my beach. After half an hour I got a broken signal with a slight gold tone so I started digging, 4 scoops later I hit pay dirt with this Heavy, 18k White Gold Band with Yellow Gold Inlay!

Except for the remains of a very corroded penny that was it for finds tonight. The Princess came down to the beach with our bouvier Bree to let me know dinner was ready, Salmon with Chick Pea and Mandarin Orange Salad; DELICIOUS!
Forgot to take the camera with me tonight so unfortunately, no pics of a beautiful sunset this time.
Cheers All,
