No Jewlery to a stock pile.

I was at work today watching the many machine swingers go thru this one park that I see them in daily. They have some of the finest units on the market, a beautiful parde af the swingers. Thier walks are almost the same each day. So I know this ground has got to be empty. But what the heck I have about an hour to kill, so I pull my little BH out of the back seat and decided to be the trailer. I hear some beeps and the thought comes to mind that this must be junk due to the amount of coil traffic but I didn't need to wonder to far. Beep Beep I looked down and impressed into the ground not even below the surface there it was my first ring. Turned out to be a class ring so I will have to give that back. A couple of more feet another hit, it was a gold ring with green stones stamped 18k wow how cool. Before the hour was up within a 400 sq ft area that had been well hunted I picked up The class ring a gold ring, a large ear ring, 2 small gold earrings, a ring from china worth about .01 cent, a key ring. the junk probably is not worth much but I also found $2.34 in clad. Kind of makes me wonder what has all the other people been looking for? Maybe they figured that smashed ring was not worth the trouble. Cheap rings, gold rings, key rings, smashed rings, it don't matter to me i like the sound of them rings. If I did it right the piture may come up. If it did the chain is my first jewlery find, it is stamped itay 18 K but it is 100% magnetic. It is for sure no ground is hunted out.

Wow!!...Just goes to show ya....It does not take no fancy detector to bring home the gold!!!

Nice job Bob!!!

Oddjobbob, way to go, you are sitting on a gold mine and you are just beginning to scratch the surface. BH-Landstar brings up a very good point. There's been a lot of talk lately on the forum about finding gold. But Bob is proving something I have felt for a long time. Gold is a tricky metal to detect no matter what machine you have. The real trick is to be hunting where gold is present. Personally, I don't buy the argument that BH is weak when it comes to finding gold because it operates at a lower kHz than some other machines (before you disagree consider how long Bob's been with the hobby, his machine and his finds). When everything is said and done...gold is metal. The problem comes when we get the foil, pull tab, or screw cap ID and we choose not to dig it. If there was a "gold ring" category on our display like there is for pull tab, screw cap, dime, or quarter, none of us would pass up a hard hit in that category. But when we get a hit in that lower range we too often disregard it. Here's another fact; because gold is a precious metal, people are more careful with it and loose less of it than silver or coins. Oddjobbob's finds are a reminder to me that I need to pay more attention to solid hits in the lower range. Enjoy the Hunt.

At this particular park it only see's about 300 people a day, But I have 20 other parks that see any where form 50 to 5000 in on day. I will never be able to hunt the whole place, but I am sure trying. I have frisbee golf, volly ball, swiming, fishing, walk tracks, exercise pins, proffessional grade soccer (14) pro grade baseball (19) , 22 plain fields, and always a promise of clad is the skate park. I am hiring more help so I can take some time off and maybe I can hunt for a whole day each week instead of these 5 minute to a couple of hour hunts. If I get all this hunted out I always have the beach just 70 miles away. But even with this great setup I could not have done this with out the help and advise from everyone on this forum, My hat is off to all of you guy's and gals thank you for answering my crazy questions.

Bob, you will never get this hunted out for the simple reason that every day, people are replenishing the hunting area. That's the neat thing about this hobby. A few of us are hunting and every one else in the world is giving us things to hunt.
