no dirt fishing for awhile

It's been sometime since I posted and I have not been able to go metal detecting due to the heat and anemia. Last thursday, a doctor cauterized two spots in my small intestines that was bleeding and I hope to feel like going dirt fishing soon. I had hoped to buy an Ace 250 by now, but I have decided to stick with the GTI-2500, even though it's pretty heavy. The DOT is replacing a bridge by my house and I had hoped to metal detect when they scraped the grass and topsoil up, but due to heat and illness, it was an opportunity I had to pass up. I just have a feeling that this creek next to high ground was a place where campsites might have been from long ago. After reading so many metal detecting books and reading my favorite author, the late Louis L'Amour, I just get the feeling that something valuable was around, maybe relics. Too late now, it's under 6 feet of clay they are packing down for the bridge foundation. I can just imagine an army camp or Indian camp or village there and all the artifacts just laying there.

Sorry to hear about your missed opportunity. I'll bet there are plenty of other great sites still available. Hope you're feeling better soon and can get out and do some detecting.

I don't want to sound like cliche', but you will get other opportunities! Don't be a stranger on our forum tho, we still value your expertise!

Don't get discouraged. There's plenty more fish in the dirt!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Sorry to hear of your problems and sure hope you're on the mend. You'll be out there soon. Too bad the detecting opportunity skipped by you but there will be more. Take care of yourself. Good health comes before anything else.

Thanks everybody! I hope that this weekend will be my time to to go dirt fishing. The weather is cooled off and I hope to get out for a couple hours this weekend. My home pc is on the blink and I don't get to town to use the library pc but a couple times a week.
