Headed out after work for a couple of hours yesterday to place on my "to hunt" list. I managed a couple of silver coins, a nice 1951 300 year Nickel Discovery Anniversary nickel, my first ever.

More loot to add to gold coin fund. :)

Some very nice finds. Anytime you find silver it makes a good days hunting well worth while. I like the nickel.I had never seen one before.

Yes, I do like the nickel. I am going to have to get me one.

It has been raining here all day so I was a good boy.
I took my wife to to Mother's Day Shrine today. 100 years form today the first Mother's Day was celebrated in Grafton WV. They had a nice program with music and the Governor of WV. spoke. As we were leaving the church I shook hands with the Governor and told him, "That was a great sermon preacher". We are a small state. He knows my family. Everybody knows everybody. What a difference from Fl. There was no security in the church. Outside was a different story. The secret service was everywhere. Some lady named Hillery was coming by to cash in on the Mother's Day publicity. Afterwards I took my wife on a nice drive in the rain and showed her all the places I go MD'ing there.

those nickels were all hoarded when they went into circulation. I added it the hard way to my coin collection, by finding it in the ground. :)
