no detecting but a great day anyway

did not get to go detecting today - but the reason for this was worth missing a day sifting sand. There was a ceremony for those being promoted in the nyc fire dept. my son was promoted to lieutenant. We had a fine meal after the ceremony + by time we got home it was too late to do anything but take a nap.
