General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

No deal with G papa findsalot

Roughly 2 weeks ago G papa findsalot made a deal with me to purchase a coil of mine. I boxed up the coil ready for shipment. A couple more emails telling me payment was going to be on the way, shortly. I have heard nothing from him in about 10 days & no responses to my email.
 
At least saying if he did or did not send the payment !!!!
 
Yes Elton....it would be the right thing to do.
 
Well after more than a month and after G papa findsalot has been posting for a few days. I gave him some extra time thinking MAYBE his email was out. I thought I would receive an email as soon as he got back online(what I would do). I sent.him a email asking what his intentions were on finishing our deal that we agree to.

He only said , "no good reason". Then I asked what he was going to do now? He said, "he wasnt going to buy the coil".


I have this view......if you make a deal....stick to it.

Same thing happened to me twice with G papa. Both times he advertised in accessories wanting coils. First one was a Big Foot coil and the other was a small 5.5 Hot Head coil. He said he would buy both times and that's the last I heard from him. I guess the 2nd time was "shame on me". I cut him slack the first time...I'm not sure why he would put a wanted ad out. Guess he didn't have money at the time...

I have no idea but what could of happened is - when we put an add on the forums to buy something there are those that reply directly to the post that is visible to all and those who send pm's and of course we can not see pm's and he might of got a less expensive offer. But as you all say if you are going to do something do it be a man of your word it is the right thing to do plus it doesn't take many feedbacks like these to have no one wanting to do business with people that don't stick to their word. Feedback is a great tool or a not so great tool depending how a person does business.

I have no doubt that is what happened and, hesitently, decided to add to the thread to give others a heads up on what to expect...
 
The more members speak up about "incidents" like these....the less members will get ripped off......or loose out on another buyer because the seller is waiting for the deal to be done.

To me its pretty simple....IF your not sure about a deal... say so. No one will fault you for that. BUT if you make the deal.....honor it.
