NiMH in a Gold Stinger?

Will the newer Nickel-Metal Hydride (energizer)9volt rechargable batteries work in the Garrett Gold Stinger? I imagine they will work but I have found that for some unknown reason they will not power my PalmPilot, any1 using these? If not what do you use in your stinger.

I have tried them in the Freedome Ace Plus, whites Surfmaster II and Detector Pro Wader. They were nothing but problems. They sometimes didn't work at all, or only lasted 10 minute, then started shorting out, but still hurt like hell during the tongue test. Use standard alkalines.....been there done that.

John ,i was thinking of using them in the 1000 and 2500. But ,it sounds like maybe not. What do you think. Both will take rechargeables. Thanks

The rechargeable AA's in the GTA 1000 and GTI 2500 will work just super. I've been using them for 5 years (not the same set)now. A set easly lasts at least a year, and good for about 2 hunts. It's those 9 volt batteries that can't stand to have a heavy load put on them and they drain very quickly. There, the story has a happy ending <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
