Nikon just announced the release of a new digital camera, its a cross between the DX1 and the D100. The price is going to be around one thousand dollars. Spring release of 04. Go to www.nikonusa.com for details. Hope this will help someone. Good luck Ronnie
 
I need to correct you!
This is not cross between the D1X and the D100.
It's a lesser grade camera body than both the D1X and D100. And the metering system is not as good as either of the above models.

I don't think Nikon has released the final specs on that camera yet.
It may very well prove a superior product. Hopefully, it will work well with older Nikon lenses.
