Any suggestions on a reasonably ($100 or less) priced flash for the Nikon 990?
 
Have you done a search on dpreview.com for suggested flash units for that 990?
I don't have any suggestions
 
Just post a question and see what comes back as this is the Nikon Forum. Give it a go.
