This is the 1st pic from the Nikon. Took a macro shot of one of my wife's petunias. Captured the stamin and pollen pretty nicely, I think. Macro focusing is a little tricky, but I'm sure things will only get better with experience.
 
you got pollin on the lens! It looks like you are gonna be getting some fine shots with that camera! Try a coin. I still am not getting the pictures I want with the 300
