Friends.... Don't forget that the night time is the best for detecting.Get a lamp ang go when nobody on tha bech.

In that way we'll keep our hobby far away from the enemy. :ranting: :detecting: :veryangry:

Beleave me is really anoying one detector betwen the people having fun on the beach and it cause problems, even it doen't look good. so be pacient and start hunting night time.

Happy Detecting !! :usaa::detecting::usaa:

Where I live, that's when the best low tides are, apparently there are a few who hunt at night.

I should try it (have tried it in the park) but people give you grief at night too, so I've heard.

HEY BENCE !!!! Been hunting in a Park during night time is little bit sopicious, so my advise to you is, go for hunting early in the morning when nobody there for a couple of hours, that would be ok!!.

Yup, a bit sus, I felt like that at the beach too at night, but I have to see if others do it and if so, so will I.

If you do not toch private property and if you do not drestroy anithing then won't be any problem :surrender:.

Best time is before sunrise here .Every idiot is flaked out and the mosquitoes are asleep or dormant.
At night the bugs are out and so are the drunks and potheads.:look::unsure:

Unfortunatelly here in NY almost all parks and beaches are "closed at dusk and open 9 a.m."

So for being there after dusk one can be arrested or fined. It happened to a friend of mine (middle aged professional) for sitting in a bench with a book in Central Park.

I love to swim before work. In NY that is on the ocean - it is not possible. Not allowed. Not permited. Doors to the beach are locked.

Yes. Try for instance to go to swim or fish to Orchard Beach at 6.30. Even access to parking lot is blocked by police far away from the beach.

Playland beach is closed from Labor Day until June. In September there are days with temperature 90-95F but people are not allowed to swim!!

When I tell all this to my overseas friends nobody believes me that it is possible in a free country.

Ok guys most of you are rights!! But the point is to keep our hobby intact and far away from stupids. So be carefull do not go alone detecting nigth time specially in NY :detecting::ninja:

i'm always out hunting the beaches late at night. where i hunt, is probably the most dangerous location to be by oneself. i find that, when i'm in the wet hunting, its pretty safe. none of the knuckleheads, are willing to step into the water that late at night. aside from the danger zone, with all the people coming there for the day on a daily basis, bring lots of lolligag to find in or out of the water. hunting is never really a bad experience. never hurts to watch your back!!! use common sense, play it safe when hunting alone. have a partner with you. the pic is of my hunting buddy. :whites::please: he rocks skating & metal detecting!!!

I would get at the beach at 5:30 PM and it wouldn't start getting dark out until 8PM. People could have cared less about what I was doing? Once it got dark my headlight would come on. People would still be coming to the beach it's relatively safe at night. I just keep a good distance from people if they are lounging on the beach, say 6' + so they don't feel that I am encroaching on their personal space. You do it that way and people could care less what you doing as long as you don't bother them.

When I was there this past Monday I see an old women there and see is reading a book with her Great Dane who could have pulled her like a rag doll if it wanted it to and then she is reaching for a beverage and I look and see she is drinking a Bud Light, heehee. Numerous violations are going on now but officially the season is closed and no life guard is on duty. Surfers are coming in cause it is a decent place to surf as it's kind of a small bay making the waves numerous and fun to ride.

I just make sure I keep my end up so it doesn't look bad for the sport and people basically blank me out. You'll always get smaller children who always are fascinated by metal detectors, people asking questions. I take 5 minutes and chit chat and then I move along. I don't let it get to me like I am in a race and their are disturbing my world. It's all on how you project yourself. Think positive, think Gold!
