Night Hawk Get's Skunked

Hit the beach last night about 9:30 and stayed until 1:30 did not see any other Va.Beach Surf Pirates but I stayed south of the pier.Did not get any gold or silver but had a nice hunt.Weather was perfect and did get a few targets.

I feel your pain. After going out Friday night I decided that it was time to call "time of death" on our beach for about week and put it (or at least me) out of it's misery. It's painful out there right now with the sand conditions. We are in dire need of some movement. Hopefully this coming week we'll get it. :goodnight:

Yep. I stayed home last nite. Figured the Skunk was gonna show up again, That one nite south of the pier was good to us and the next nite nothing. How about just a small northeaster??????????????

Mike,....not to sound dumb or anything, but I guess when you say sand movement, you are talking about the surf giving or taking away sand or what exactly does this mean. Granted, if there was a hurricane it could really create some great hunting or kill the hunting. Also, do you believe in reading books, the type written by Charles Garret on beach hunting ans water hunting?

Thanks for taking the time to respond,

Gary

I do believe in reading books. Andy Sabisch has written some great ones as well as others. Anything to increase your knowledgebase...

As for "sand movement", I mean just that. All the good stuff is BURIED on our beaches right now...a condition known as being "sanded in"...sand piled upon sand with targets too deep for the detectors. Some of the right kind of currents to create beach erosion will uncover the goodies. As well as possibly bringing some IN as well.
