night at the tot lots

Got out for 6 hrs last night, went to two different places both had multiple play areas ended up pulling 53 quarters, 25 dimes and 16 pennies out of the woodchips for a total of $15.91 used the Cibola with 5.75 concentric coil. I sure do wish I could come up with totals like that every time I go out detecting.

Those are some great totals for tot lots.
I went for about 3 hours last Friday and found 173 coins, but mostly pennies.
That's a pile of quarters.. probably still some more hiding in the chips.

Congrats on a great total.

Reminds me of about 4 years ago when I found a sports field that had wood chips in front of the concession stand and had not been hunted in a while. I think it was about $12 that I found. Those days are far between. That field now has a hard clay down in front of the concession stand. My hunt today collected $3.27 in clad and a couple of junk pins and I thought that was a good day.

Thanks ya'll, I'm the same way if I can find 3-4 dollars at a time I figure I'm doing really well. I didn't get to finish hunting all of the play areas at the last place I was at so I need to go back and finish hunting those areas plus I think I'm going to use my other detector and notch out tabs to see if there just might be a ring or two hiding in the woodchips, probably not but I won't know till I look. hey jimmy, where are the Nickels? i have an eldorado, old one, and if i disc out nickles, i loose rings. tested it that way before, and still use a buffalo to test with today. i wish our tot lots would produce better. the most i got was 163 coins on a college kid volleyball court, easy dig, actually just kick them up. one silver ring, i gave to a friend who lost one identical to it yrs ago. the rate you are going on clad, i see a new purchase in the near future.

I was just cherry picking for copper pennies, dimes, quarters and any silver jewelery that I could find, hope to go back the next weekend the wife is working and hunt with the discrimination turned down to see if there's anything else good to be found. I have been thinking about getting a new coil for the Cibola just not sure if I want a cleansweep or a large widescan.
