Nickels?

Does anyone have any tips to help distinguish nickels from the old beaver tail pull tabs? They are so close in sound that I can not tell one from the other and they even hit about the same spot on the screen. I hate pass up on nickels, but I am getting tired of digging all of the pull tabs. I tried to discriminate out the pull tabs, but it also disc. out the nickels. Any suggestions or tips on this issue?

I know when I am chasing nickels I sure dig alot of them and other junk in parks etc.. usually when I get a real nickel signal I can tell it is just by sound quality, but just cant seem to pass those tab tails signals and readings that are so close just in case they are one too... I guess I shoulda kept my Sov for nickels <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> ... very seldom did it lie... you got a 142-144 reading and 90 percent of the time it was a nickel..

One thing I have noticed, but I have not dug enough nickels to verify that it is reliable, is that the crosshairs do not seem to jump around as much on a nickel. They tend to be more stable. Has anyone else noticed this?

I dug a nickel the other day and when I tried to spend it. The person at the register said...THIS IS A soda can beaver tail. So if you want to know the difference there is a Mexican dude at a Fast Stop in Goober Texas that knows the difference. His name is Jose.

Ha ha, that is good. You have a great sense of humor and I laughed till tears ran down.
