Hello all Hank here, I just watched a YouTube video on a different brand detector won't mention any names, but it talks about looking at phase angles (3) of them to tell the difference between a pulltab and a nickel, and it amazed me to see this high $ machine decipher the targets , I had to hold back my thoughts and not respond, but I wanted say is get a golden umax and don't worry about phase angles and see how this machine does with pull tabs and nickels it's day and night difference totally no watching the colored screen or anything just listen to the tones and use the notch switch plain and simple, it's so easy even a caveman can do it!!

You're right on Hank! I just uploaded a video to Youtube on this very thing. Took my Golden out this morning and went over the basic Notch function. Funny, but the Notch is why I did not get this detector sooner. It seemed a little confusing - man was I wrong. You're right about the Golden uMax - awesome detector!
