Nickels airtest excellent on F75....

I was running some airtests for someone today who was interested in the F75 and saw something pretty interesting coin-wise I never noted before. He asked for the inches for coins...specifically a quarter and a nickel. Now I'm not sure if this is something F75 fans were already aware of because of the frequency, or have seen already, but in my area, a nickel airtests the same depth if not even a stronger signal. Both were 11".....(that's solid signals with proper ID). It "nipped" the coins even deeper, and may go deeper in different areas and I sure deeper in a ground matrix.
This was with JE mode & 90 sens......
Just thought some might be interested, as nickles have always been one of the harder coins to find with past units & "big" coins like quarters considered "easier" targets....(but this is also my first forray into a frequency in the double digits so this may not be such a surprise for some).

Bill

In the "JE" mode, the F75's response has been enhanced for jewelry.

A US nickel is a good standard to use for jewelry, because it responds a lot like a thin, medium size, gold wedding band. This is why the detector does well with the nickel.

I just got a kick out of seeing it in action. Now thinking back to my last hunt before the snow flew.....remember what I found in a pounded park? A gold ring & 2 V-nickels. Makes sense.....

Going to set mine and see what I get...remember, I was only getting about 4" on a three-ringer...which doesn't seem right.
