Seems all I can find lately are old nickels and gold rings, which is not a bad thing. I would like to see some silver or indian head cents once in a while though. Out with Park Pirate this morning hitting some hillside sidewalk areas in our old faithful park. First good target I dig was the 1911 V nickel which was very deep, close to 8-9 inches down. Shortly after I dug both Buffalo nickels about 20 feet from the V nickel. Then another nickel signal turns to be a piece of can slaw. I replace the plug and get another nickel hit in the same hole. Re-dig the plug and pull out a clump of aluminum foil. Scan the hole again and this time another nickel signal but about an inch outside the original plug. I dig down and was surprised to pull out a nice 10K cat's eye ring. I'll take that one to the jeweler to get bent back into shape and I'm sure my wife or granddaughter will lay claim to it. I think that makes it a gold ring the last 3 weekends !!! Park Pirate was on fire with copper coins today. All I could manage was a couple wheaties...
