Nice Sunday hunt in the snow...

Went back to our favorite field for an hour or so. Dug a deep KingGeorge II with a date actually...1756. Also got a nice key of some kind...used to think it was a clock key but I am wondering if it is some kind of wrench for a musket as i have dug two in this field.
Also dug a bunch of lead...as always...and the obligatory 12 gauge shell

...and I am not a delivery boy....hint...hint.
After hitting that field again today I dug the KGII, the Key and probably 8 pieces of lead.....and there is a ton of stuff down there...I just could not dig all the deep faint targets....too wet....too muddy....too cheezed...

The fields are still soft enough as are the woods. I can usually dig till Christmas unless the snow gets too deep.
Even with early cold spells the woods take weeks and weeks to freeze up. they are the last to go solid. but this was in a cut hay field and digging was no problem....but then again the predator is a serious cutting shovel. i can go through 2-3 inches of frost with it.

you must be close to the ocean with sandy soil.....we have wet clay
