Nice silver ring

Aaron

Well-known member
I found this in a old graveyard in my neighborhood where the kids play alot, about 6 inches down. It has some weight to it. Found alot of older silver there too. Aaron

hunting in a graveyard?:nono: or hunting on the edges of a grave yard?:)

It's a nice ring and all ..BUT..your going to find out that hunting in or around graveyards is a very touchy subject in the detecting community. Spirituality and Moralities come into play big tmme and make for some long threads.

No, I am not kidding...BUT, I should have mentioned where I was hunting was in a big field, not around any of the sites, as I said where kids regularly play. Infact they were playing footabll when we were there. Most important, we had permission from the caretaker. However, that was in 1987, relax Marc, I havent been back since. Aaron

Thanks, I see your point. :;)

this came from an paper i read years back why its not good to detect in grave yards. grave yards are areas where we bury are dead. it said theres not a problem with the ghost or holy ground, the problem is the ground can become extremely toxic from the dead rooting in the ground. thats is why it the law to put a coffin into a cement vault then it can be buried.

i see..thats different story. When reading your post I understood it as you were inside.I have no problems detecting on the outside of a grave site you know at least 10 feet away from the fence..:detecting::minelab:

Marc. I'm glad to hear that you observe a 10 ft limit from grave sites. I have a number of ancestors occupying the good earth of N.B.
at Murray's Corner NB. Some out in the fields, along fence lines as is my Great-Grandfather. They might enjoy the company, but I'm not sure they want their sleep disturbed, strict Scottish Presbyterians you know. How is MDing in NB? Don

Thanks Steve, Its the best ring I ever found! And yes, I have not found many rings. Aaron

Hi Don where exactly is Murray's corner around Fredericton?Mding in the north of the province has it challenges but its great in the southern part of NB where it has been settled by the more affluent settlers.:minelab::fisher:

Hi Marc. Murray's Corners is NW of The Prince Edward Island Bridge, on the mainland coast, HWY 955 I believe. Directly north of Little Shemogue. Grandpa went West to homestead in Manitoba, then South to the USA. I've been to Murray's Corners tracing my roots.

Here we are using 21 Century Hi-Tech communicating about MDing, you up North in NB and me in NW Florida. We sometime forget that its a world wide net. Gotta love it.

Interested in what kind of finds you make in NB, general sites, what the ground conditions are like, what you use, and how your Dtector performs.

Got a whole lotta Canada in my soul.:canadaflag: :usaflag: :beers:
HH Don
