I just got done detecting too hot and hit this button dinged it with my shovel
Nice eagle on front writing on back any idea?
 
Post-civil war general service button. Usually called chicken heads. Where did you find it?

I just reexamine the pic and I might be wrong. Repost after cleaning.
 
In an old field that has a cemetery in it I was just in the field the cemetery has a fence around it
 
That looks similar to the one I found a few weeks back. Is there a letter inside of that shield? I can't read it from the picture posted but can you read what it says on the back of the button
