Nice gold ring

I found this beautiful gold ring with my Tesoro. It looks to be real gold with some sort of stone inset. The stone has a slight chip in it. There are no markings whatsoever inside.

I have never been much of a jewelry hunter, so if anyone can tell anything more about it or its worth just by looking at it, please chime in.

Sure looks to be gold to me. And possibly a older ring by looks of it. Pretty center stone too. Possible custom job if no stamps!

looks good from here...no green showing on edges or in crevices. ..cute looking thing too...very nice find...

Where would I go to have it valued if I wanted to sell it?

It does not just look like gold, it has that buttery look of old very high karat gold.
It might be 22k or even higher.
I would have it tested, it is worth way more as a ring than you could get at melt.

Where would I go to have it tested? A jewelry store?

The stone if it's chipped won't have secondhand value. Basically no stones have secondhand value anyways if they aren't diamonds. If you want to sell it, looks like you'd just scrap it. I personally don't sell my gold rings, even the scrappers, they are just too hard to find these days :)

Your local jewelry store would be able to tell you what the value of the ring may be. If you want a written appraisal they usually charge for those. I use this web site to get an idea of the value of the gold in any ring that I find.

Hoping that it is real.

That's a nicely designed ring. The value is in the gold at this point with the stone being damaged, but if it's vintage and high k gold, it would have more value in resale than melt. A good jeweler can, in some cases, smooth out the chips if they are not huge, or , replace with a different stone making it sellable or gift worthy to someone.
My jeweler smoothed out and diamond polished a scratched and roughed up Peridot / diamond ring... and also cut & replaced a missing stone, reset a couple of the other stones and polished up a designer Navajo cuff bracelet that were both found in the water.
The Peridot ring retails at $700 and cost me $30 dollars to repair. Resale, I could get $300 from the right buyer.
The cuff bracelet is a Calvin Begay and retails for $450. It cost $55 to repair, It is pending sale for $250 this Christmas.
