Went to an new construction site today and did about three hours of hunting. Found four pennies and one really nice 1947 Dime looks like new and one bullett. how do you tell an old bullet from a new bullet. I know what a musket ball looks like but what did pistols fire? Anybody know about these things. The one I found looks like a 38 special but I am not sure. The bullet has never struck anything so it looks clean.

Hi Ronnie; anytime you have a possible relic, post it in the Relic Forum and I'll be glad to help ID. We need clear pics, not too big please. Old bullets will generally have a white patina. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
