Nice day today in Florida

Not a bad day today high of about 66 degrees. Got cold this past week. I went to the beach to test out my new Sea Hunter Mark ii. I found a lot of trash and a few coins. Next off to the tot parks with the mxt and the 6x10 where I found a gold plated 1965 quarter. Looked it up on the internet and a company gold plates them and sells them. Found a cell phone some junk jewelery and $4 in coins. A nice hunt and a beautiful day of water and sand. Marty

Boy does that sound refreshing Marty. Great hunts also. I would love to be able to walk the beaches now. I've never heard of a gold plated quarter before. Cool. HH, Nancy PS: Want some snow? :surrender:

Sounds like you had a good day of hunting . Wish we had your weather here in Missouri been cold here for a few weeks now .

Good Hunting
Harold

Any pics of the quarter ?

With temps of 66 degrees, you would've had a good day no matter. Gold plated quarter must look cool. I spent the day finishing up shingling my roof with temps of 31 degrees all day. No snow yet but the weatherman is predicting a possible 1-3" tomorrow. HH Jack

Jack,

It was a beautiful day, but I may have to put the shorts away for a while. Temps are going to dip into the 20's at night and only in the mid 50's as a high.
The water temp is higher lol. Hope the temperature gets a little higher later. Anything below 70 for us is cold and this weather is record breaking. Marty

Hey Marty, sounds like you're getting NH weather. we didn't get any snow like the weatherman predicted but it's below freezing. My wife spent close to 20 yrs. in Nigeria with her Dad so she got use to 90's and humid. She hates our weather here. If she could hibernate, she would. As long as its cold there, you might as well take Nancy up on her offer of SNOW. What would the Christmas season be without cold and that white stuff LOL. Well... I hope you can still get out to MD. HH Jack

As the old goat in the aflac commercial said "Naaaaah!"
Last snow we had here in Jax was 1989 1" overall. Cars all over the road ! People in ditches. The weather is 20 degrees below normal for this time, so expect it to change in about 5 days. Can't take that cold weather any more. Need to find newer territory to conquer. HH Marty

Hey Marty why don't you open up a small resort on the beach with small cabins and then you could rent them to us snow birds for the winter months at a cheap rate for finds members . Then we could afford to come down where its dry and warm and hunt all winter on the beach then come home in the spring .. Like a poor mans resort or something maybe we could detect on shares to pay our rent or something .....lol just a idea lol:laugh:

Harold

MARTY,

We all want some :cam::cam::cam::cam::cam: pictures please.... Sounds like you had an excellent hunt. CCH

How about this ladies and gentlemen,
If you come down or pass through Jacksonville, you are all welcome here at my house (just not all at once!) We will hunt the beach, get a good tan if the weather is right. I'll take you to a seafood dive that the wife and I go to have some grouper, snapper, mahi grilled, blackened, or fried and we can swap war stories of past hunts of glory. Just give me some lead time of your coming.. Open invite. We open our heart and our home.

Will post pics of gilded quarter and misc treasures... Marty

I guess no takers, lol

That might be a blessing in disguise.......

Larry,
Perhaps you are right. My wife does not know of this post. a bit daring !!!!
Marty:jump:

Thats a great offer and if I was rich and could afford to travel I would stop and visit you for a hunt ....BUT I am not rich so I am stuck in the snow like Nancy and Larry so we have to make do with the life we have . Maybe someday if we get down your way we can arrange a hunt . lol thanks

I am on a fixed income disability so I been looking for low income housing on a Hawaiian beach no luck so far. I'm just kidding .

Harold

Nancy and I appreciate the offer Marty and one of these years we would like to hook up the camper and travel some and meet and hunt with many of you.

Hey Harold,

We are not rich, but just live in Florida. Wealth should not be measured by what we have, but what is in the heart of a person. That which is eternal is not necessarily observed by the five senses. This life is but a vapor and kindness towards others, especially during this holiday time is what is important. I would enjoy hunting with you Harold so the offer stands. You never know what friends you meet. Your best friend can be just around the corner. This hobby is much more than digging and collecting. I just wish I had started this hobby earlier in life! Take care and hope you win a nice beach house where it is warm.

Marty

"You never know what friends you meet. Your best friend can be just around the corner."

So very true. We have met the best people and dearest friends while on this forum. Spring of last year, we invited rcasio44 and his dear wife to come and join us in a hunt with our metal detecting group. They brought their 5Th wheel down and we camped together. It's as though we've known them for years. Now they are our best friends. They're great people and we love getting together, camping, sitting around a hot fire and detecting too. We try to get together as much as possible. Too bad we live so far apart. Nancy
